Let's Talk About Sinks

As many of you know I am building an "old" new house and the plethora (always wanted to write that) of decision making is astonishing. Take farmhouse sinks for instance. When I hear that this is what I think of.

The Shaws Original apron fronted sink. These beauties have been handcrafted in England since 1897.

Because this is the original it has an original price tag but not to worry many other manufacturers make some lovely farmhouse sinks.
Ikea makes a charming rendition of the farmhouse sink as you can see in this sweet kitchen.

Both Overstock and Wayfair have a great selection of farmhouse sinks by various manufacturers.

Stainless seems to be a popular choice now.

Not to be outdone there are other vintage inspired farm sinks that really are spectacular.Look at this sink from Signature Hardware

She's a beauty isn't she? And look at her in this gorgeous kitchen design by Terrat Elms Interior Design

See her peaking out against the back wall?
Here is a close up.

That noise you hear is my heart going pitter patter!

Here are some other versions of vintage farmhouse sinks.

I've not decided for sure but aren't they lovely?
I will keep you posted.;-)

Today I'm linking up with my sweet friends at TOHOT.

Good Morning!
Oh goodness, you and I share a similiar philosophy about "old new homes!" It is so fun, isn't it:)
Well these are just all gorgeous choices and you will choose the perfect one for your house with great care.
We too put a Farmhouse sink in our old new home-we chose a Kohler and I am super happy with her.
So lovely to see you here this morning!

I am in love with Farmhouse sinks! You found some beauties! I will probably do one of the options from Ikea because of costs, some of those free standing ones are amazing!

:-) Per usual, I will be on the other side of the argument. :-)

Not enamoured with farmhouse sinks. I don't care for how they usually butt out, from the regular line of kitchen counters, and etc.

But I am certainly in the minority!

Enjoy what you choose!

I loved looking at all of the farmhouse sinks. Saw some I recognize - the vintage ones, like my Great-Grandmother had on her farm. Thanks for visiting me...and I've added you to my blog list...to follow.

Hugs,

Have a blast with your house and deciding on your sink. One of the things I love about having a son who builds custom homes is seeing all the different styles in sinks. These are all great!!!

I can't believe I opened your blog and shopped farmhouse sinks!! Each one has me swooning. I'm redoing the kitchen at our lakehouse from the bottom up and I, too, am looking for a bit of a rustic farmhouse feel. I priced the sinks a while ago and they were way out of my budget. I didn't look on Overstock or Amazon though. Brilliant!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your kitchen! :)

I think I might be having a bit of sink envy!

I love farmhouse sinks. Some friends of mine put in a stainless one like you pictured. They quickly found a negative to the metal apron. It can be scratched easily- especially from Men's belts. The hubby helps in the kitchen with clearing dishes and putting them in the d/w but realized his belt was a problem with rubbing the surface. It does pay to shop around for sinks. When we remodeled I ended up ordering my sink on line vs. the store because of the huge price difference. Good luck with your choice!
