Doors

Many of you know that my empty-nester husband and I are building a new home in a historic district. Of course I don't want the house to look new. That is where doors come in. Old doors to be exact. I thought I would share a few of the doors I've collected for my new home.

This cutie is going to be my pantry door. I bought it way before we had even finalized the plans. I just knew it would be perfect.

This chippy sweetheart is going in the mudroom/laundry area.

I think she will clean up well!
This door is rather plain but she has some lovely jewelry.

Pretty isn't it?

I am on the lookout for a few doors with a bit more detail for my master bedroom, powder room and possibly the front door.I am planning a trip to an architectural salvage company and you can be sure I will show and tell you all about that! Until then the search continues...

Today I'm hooking up with my friends over at Thoughts of Home on Thursday

Good morning Lisa!! Thank you so much for linking with us so bright and early today. Yes, I love your door and the knob is amazing. Can not wait to see your new house except that it will really make me want to do the same thing. See you today at Sugar Bacon, I hope. :)

Hi Lisa, love the doors you've chosen for your new home. So much charm and I love the vintage glass knobs. I grew up with those in my parents home. See you later today! xo

How fun to look for the vintage doors for your new/old home

I have never got to enjoy the thrill of building a home and picking out all the details however friends have and said it was painful LOL

You have a wonderful collection for your new "old" house! I look forward to seeing more.

I also wanted to thank you for visiting my blog post "Pinterest Interest." Those mug cakes are delicious and make the perfect dessert for one or two people.

Warm hugs,

I love those beautiful door knobs. My sister has some in her home and people are always trying to talk her out of them. I guess it gets harder to find the old things that make a beautiful home authentic. Hugs, Diane

Lisa, so funny that I had been on your blog yesterday, and didn't know I was going to meet you at lunch. I can't wait to follow the progress of your new home. I wish I could have talked to you more , but will the next time we meet up. By the way-I love the doors, especially the one with the glass knob!

Oh that first door is just dreamy - love it!! I would love screen doors like that on my house but sadly they just wouldn't suit, nor would they be practical. Looking forward to seeing your home as you build it!

Oh I love the old doors you have collected. Simply love them. Especially the screen door, for your pantry. I have actually thought of this plan. But never did it. Yours will be lovely.

Saving old doors and their 'jewelry'... What a wonderful thing to do.

"...building a new home in a historic district." Oh how wonderful! So happy to be able to travel with you, on this delightful journey.

Thank you for your comment, in my blog.

Gentle hugs,
Tessa

Those doors will look amazing when they are finished. Must be such an experience building a house in a historic district. The door and the door knob look so amazing. My wife and I cannot wait to see the final outcome of the house. We will be using some of your great ideas to improve upon our place too, so thanks.
