Eighty nine other peeps and I experienced the Dallas area Outstanding in the Field restaurant without walls event. If you have not experienced this roving culinary adventure you absolutely must put it on your to do list.
The OITF team drive all over the country in this adorable bus. Their mission, to reconnect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it.
They criss cross the USA setting up the long table (always 1 long continuos table) at farms, gardens, mountain tops,ranches and oceanside.
The food is divine
the company superb
the views amazing! (Even with a port-a-potty)
The OITF crew left Dallas headed for 2 events in Austin and 1 in Brenham, which I'm told is the largest event to date with way over 200 people.

I have never heard of this event.
Several of the outdoor settings for the diners are simply gorgeous. I think the curved table down on the Wisconsin Farm (well, it LOOKS like a Wisconsin Farm) is my fave.

This looks like so much fun! It is something I have always wanted to try, but my husband and the friends I wanted to do it with balked at the expense. Party poopers! I am using you as a rave reviewer to try to convince him again! lol!

Lisa, we have talked about attending one of these events. They look wonderful. And it even inspired us to use one long table at our wildflower party out in the pasture last spring. Maybe we'll get to go one of these days.
