One day Fanny Crosby, the blind hymn writer, needed a specific amount of money and she asked God to supply the need. As she rose from her knees, the doorbell rang and Fanny opened the door to greet a stranger. The two visited. When the person turned to leave, they shook hands and Fanny felt a bill slip into her hand. Later she discovered it was the exact amount of money she had prayed for. As she meditated on God's faithfulness, words formed in her mind. The lines were eventually put to music and became the hymn,"All The Way My Savior Leads Me."
All the way my Savior leads me; What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy, Who through life has been my Guide?
Heavenly peace, divinest comfort, Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate'er befall me, Jesus doeth all things weell.
God knows exactly what you need, but He invites you to ask. Coming to God shows your dependence upon Him and is pleasing to your heavenly Father. Mothers may tire of hearing their child's continual requests, but not so with God. He hears every prayer and promises to answer them.
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives.
