Spiritual Sundays

What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.
Revelation 3:7-8 NIV

Commentary: You thought you knew God's plan. You spent years in preperation, only to have the door slam shut. Don't be confounded by delays or closed doors. God controls all your opportunities. Hold steady. When you place your future in divine hands, He will open the right door in His good time.
Jewell Johnson

Thank you to Charlotte and Ginger for hosting Spiritual Sunday.

How true! Knowing that a door was shut once for me yet He opened a what was supposed to be a dark place to work in, turned out to be the better blessing. Happy New Year! And may God bless you abundantly. Have a great weekend.

We all learn this lesson at some point, don't we? In His time, not ours!

I have found this to be so true. So many times when we try to open a door for something we want, it just doesn't happen, but God definitely opened doors in our almost 50 years of ministry. I believe he also shut doors or allowed them to be shut because something better was ahead. Thank you for sharing these thoughts.

No coincidence that I popped over here to read that! If you only knew how providential your post was. God is amazing and he is everywhere... even in the blogisphere! He is always trying to reach us and will use anything. We have only to listen.....

Dear Lisa-

After reading your post, I realized that I have to work at waiting and holding steady.

I am not good at that...

I am so glad I saw this-
I really have to work at it! And I am willing-

Amen, I pray always to be willing to say, not my will but yours be done Lord. It is not easy all the time to let go of my plans & defer to Him.
